How to change spark plug in your lawn mower

My mower is a Murray 500E 21″ push mower powered by a Briggs and Stratton 5 horsepower engine. It is a good idea to clean or replace the spark plug every year. In my case it has never been changed or cleaned and the mower is at least 10 years old 🙁

Check your owners manual for the correct plug. If you remove your existing plug, the part number and manufacturer should be imprinted on the white part of the plug. Make sure you gap your new plug and use a torque wrench to tighten the new spark plug to the correct specifications.
